Like with fundraising, these are not the only ways to get our message across, rather they just serve as suggestions.

Our advocacy strategy is based upon op-eds, letters, and emails. If enough people send similar letters, important people are forced to pay attention.

Some important people and agencies that an organized letter writing campaign will can actually produce results from are:

  • The Jewish Agency

  • Natan Sharansky

  • PM of Israel (currently Netanyahu)

  • Isaac Herzog

  • Naftali Bennett

  • Anyone else who can influence immigration policies in Israel

It is really important that when writing your letters and in instructing other people of what to write, you make clear what you are asking to happen, why it is that you think that, and why the recipient should care.

Some things to focus on:

  • We are asking that the remaining Jews living in Ethiopia be provided with opportunities for aliyah, or immigration to Israel

  • These people are diseased, sick, and have as much of a Jewish connection as anyone

  • Include your perspective - what age you are, where you live, your level of schooling, etc.

    • It can really shock someone to learn that a random kid from the US cares so much about this issue

Don't be afraid to reach out for help with the content of your letter or anything else you have questions about.
